8 Phases to Create Ads That Sell

Hey, it’s Patrick.

We produce hundreds of ad creatives every single month.

Here are the 8 phases to create ads that sell.

→ Research

As easy as it to jump right into scripting ads, this is where the real work starts.

In the research phase, we gain clarity on the target customer, unique selling propositions and the offer.

→ Angles & Hooks

Before scripting, we always start with the angles.

An angle is a specific approach or perspective to promote an offer.

Then with each angle, brainstorm multiple hooks.

→ Scripting

Scripting is just like copywriting.

From the work done in the research phase, write a script that isolates pain points and positions the offer as the solution.

→ Talent

Many brands overlook this step.

There are many ways to source talent.

Local actors, UGC creators, influencers, etc.

Partner with talent that aligns best with your customers and brand.

→ Shot-List & Locations

We produce many ads in-house here in Dallas.

In order to make the most of our time, we always create a clear, one-page shot list.

This ensures we get every shot for the ad.

Contacting certain locations like gyms or other public venues is also important to avoid conflict.

→ Equipment Prep

Depending on the production value of the ad, it's important to have the right equipment (cameras, lighting, microphones, SD cards, lenses etc.).

You do not want to go to a shoot and realize you forgot a lens!

→ Shoot

Finally, we are filming ads.

With all the preparation, shoot day is a breeze!

→ Post Production

Once the ads are filmed, the magic happens in post.

We always produce multiple versions of ads.

Swapping hooks and bodies to create a bunch of variations.
