Clicks but no cash? Read this.
Thousands of clicks. No sales. Here’s where the leak is.
Howdy, Patrick from TVG again.
There’s no feeling more frustrating in eCommerce than this: you look at your ad manager and see thousands of clicks.
Then you look at Shopify and see… a trickle of sales.
Where the hell did everyone go?
You start guessing.
Is it the button color? The headline? Is the traffic bad? You’re flying blind, and you’re burning cash with every click.
Your funnel isn’t a black box; it’s just a series of pipes.
You just need to know where to look for the leaks. It’s time to put on your plumber’s hat.
This week, I want you to become a diagnostician.
You only need to look at two numbers for any given campaign:
Add-to-Cart (ATC) Rate: This tells you if your product page and offer are doing their job. If this number is low, the leak is on your page. The price, the offer, or the messaging is turning people off.
Initiate Checkout (IC) Rate: This tells you if your cart experience is solid. If you have a high ATC rate but a low IC rate, the leak is in your cart. You’re probably scaring people away with a surprise shipping cost or you haven’t built enough trust.
So here’s your diagnostic command for the week: If your ATC rate is the problem, fix your offer.
If your IC rate is the problem, fix your cart.
Start fixing the right thing.
Talk soon,
Patrick O’Driscoll
