Sometimes, the best emails are the simplest.

This might outperform your next designed campaign.

Patrick here.

We spend a lot of time on email design: hero images, fancy graphics, custom fonts.

And that stuff is important.

But one of the most interesting things we see across all our accounts is that, for whatever reason, the plain-text message from the team, CEO, or founder tends to do quite well.

Sometimes, they absolutely crush the designed campaigns.

Why? Because they feel personal.

They break the pattern of slick marketing emails and feel like a one-to-one conversation. It’s a huge trust-builder.

Now, I’m not saying you should abandon all design. But you should absolutely be sprinkling these into your campaign strategy.

Here’s a simple way to try it this week.

Instead of a big, flashy graphic for your next content piece or announcement, try sending a simple, personal note from your own email address.

Write it like you’re talking to a friend. Tell a quick story. Be authentic.

I’m not saying you should add a discount.

In fact, these often work best when you’re just providing pure value.

You’re not trying to sell; you’re trying to connect.

Give it a shot. I think you’ll be surprised by the results.

Talk soon,
