1. Single Platform Reliance
Let’s start with the harsh truth: if the TikTok ban made you panic, there’s a deeper issue.
You’re likely over-reliant on one platform.
I’ve seen brands where 50% or more of their sales come from a single channel.
That’s a ticking time bomb.
Your top priority should always be building an owned audience.
Here’s what that means:
An owned audience is a customer list you control—whether TikTok vanishes, Meta bans your ad account, or Shopify gives you a headache.
How to protect your brand:
• Branch out to other sales channels.
• Invest heavily in growing your email and SMS lists.
These are assets, not just tools.
Treat them as your insurance policy.
2. TikTok Is Back
The good news? TikTok is back, and I’m optimistic it’s here to stay.
If your brand is already dominant on Shopify and Amazon, consider branching out to TikTok Shop.
