- You’re not stuck. You’re just talking to the wrong people.
You’re not stuck. You’re just talking to the wrong people.
Your ads aren’t broken - your message is missing cold buyers.
Hey, it’s Patrick!
Quick one.
You’re scaling your ads…
→ $1K/day
→ $3K/day
→ maybe even $5K/day
Then everything… stalls.
CPA creeps up.
Performance flattens.
Nothing seems to push past that ceiling.
You didn’t run out of budget. You ran out of audience.
What’s actually happening behind the scenes:
→ Meta shows your ads to the easiest buyers first
→ People already problem-aware
→ People already close to purchasing
That’s your “warm pocket.”
But once you scale…
You’re forced into colder audiences.
And this is where brands break.
Because their ads still sound like this:
→ “Buy now”
→ “Best product”
→ “20% off today”
Cold audiences don’t care.
Not yet.
They don’t even know they have a problem.
And that’s why your ads stop working.
The shift that unlocks scale
If you want to break through that ceiling…
You need to stop selling.
And start diagnosing.
The highest performing ads we run all follow this structure:
→ Unaware hook
→ Problem deepening
→ Solution introduction
→ Social proof
→ Offer
Let me show you what that actually looks like.
Step 1: The unaware hook (this is everything)
Bad ad:
→ “Boost your testosterone naturally”
Good ad:
→ “5 signs high performers are burning out… and it’s quietly damaging their relationships”
Notice the difference?
One sells a product.
The other exposes a feeling.
Your job in the first 10 seconds:
→ Name the problem
→ Articulate the pain
→ Make them feel seen
If you miss this…
Nothing else matters.
Step 2: Deepen the problem
Once you hook them, you don’t pitch.
You build tension.
→ “You’re there… but not really present”
→ “Small things set you off, and you hate it”
→ “What used to excite you now feels like work”
At this point, they’re thinking:
→ “That’s me.”
→ “That’s exactly how I feel.”
Now they’re ready.
Step 3: Introduce the solution
Only now do you bring in the product.
→ Bridge from problem → solution
→ Add credibility
→ Layer in proof
Because at this stage…
They’re already sold on fixing the problem.
Step 4: Use a pre-sell page (advanced)
If you really want to scale cold traffic:
Don’t send them straight to a product page.
Send them to a story-driven pre-sell page:
→ “5 reasons why…”
→ “What no one tells you about…”
→ “Why this keeps happening…”
This warms them up before the sale.
And drops your CAC.
Why this works
Because Meta isn’t just an ad platform anymore.
It’s a discovery engine.
And your creative is the targeting.
You don’t need better audiences.
You need better messaging.
Even in local businesses, the same principle applies:
→ Know your customer value
→ Work backwards from profit
→ Track cost per lead → show rate → acquisition
The math matters.
But the message is what unlocks scale.
If your ads feel like they’ve hit a wall…
It’s not the platform.
It’s not the budget.
It’s that your message hasn’t evolved with your audience.
If you want help fixing that:
Warm ads scale you early.
Cold ads scale you for real.
